Acapulco, Acapulco, Acapulco on my mind
 G   C         G   C        G    C                    A7    D7                    G
Acapulco, Acapulco, Acapulco on my mind, always on my mind

     C              D7             G/B               Em
I went to Acapulco, a vacation in the sun,
 Am7                   D7                 G              Am7 G/B
Met a guy from Dallas and I had a lot of fun but                                                                                                            C                                 D7                        G/B                   Em
Now I’m back in Hammond in a flannel skirt and vest
   Am7                D7                    G         C          G
Looking at the picture sitting here upon my desk of

            G   C
           Acapulco ……….

    C                     D7           G/B                Em
I wish I were in Acapulco sitting in the sand
   Am7                 D7                    G        Am7 G/B
Drinking margaritas and the sunshine in and
   C                     D7             G/B          Em
Swaying to the music of a mariachi band
  Am7                  D7                      G             C         G
thinking about nothing but the moment here at hand in

           G    C
          Acapulco ………

        C               D7                            G/B                      Em
My supervisor says that she would like a word with me
        Am7                D7                 G                  Am7 G/B
The paperwork is piling up so high I cannot see and
   C                      D7                 G/B               Em
Pretty soon my suntan will begin to fade away
   Am7                      D7                G        C         G
Along with all the memories of seven happy days in

WHEN ALL OF MY FENCES ARE MENDED   (capo 2 to play along)  ©2002 Marcia Krieger

When all of my fences are mended,
        F                                        C

I’ll welcome the day in the morning

When all of my fences are mended

I’ll find peace of mind in the knowing that

I can come home and you know that I will

                    G#                                   C              Am
And sometimes we hurt one another it seems

Because we just don’t stop to think

            C            G7              Am        C7
When all of my fences are mended
        F                                      C
And all of the doubts laid to rest
       F                                       C                   Am
I’ll walk in the grace of the smile on your face
             D7               G7             C
And I’ll sit by your side one again

TAYLOR'S THREE
Marcia Krieger

Story

* * * * *

I had been reading a letter from a cousin of mine, who was a poet. At the time, I saw him as someone caught in the artist's bind of wanting freedom and closeness too, something not always easy to obtain. Just then I caught sight of a red fox running across a field and under my kitchen porch. The appearance of the fox at that moment, seemed full of meaning, as both the fox and my cousin seemed beset with the same dilemma. Although the metaphore may have been striking, it turned out to be only in my imagination, as my cousin soon married and went on to become a Pulizer Prize winning poet, too.

Story

* * * * *

This song is the second track on the album FOR BONNIE, which I made from tapes of performances of our band, Taylor's Three, following Bonnie's death in 2002. Bonnie wrote new words for the verses, as we thought the traditional words were too sad. In the lyrics she referred to "Taylor's", the Lake County Folk Club's venue at the time, in Grayslake. Both the Tap and our band took it's name from the drinking establishment's friendly proprieter, Tim.

Story

* * * * *

For a period of time, The Lake County Folk Club, of which I am a long-time member, held it's events at a place called Mers on Bangs Lake in Wauconda, Il. I wrote this song following one of those events, looking out over the lake at night. This track was recorded by Joe Pesz as a part of the Lake County Museum Concert Series produced by Chuck VanderVennet of Just Folks Music Company, P.O. Box 335, Mundelein, Il 60060.

Story

Mrs. Bass (real name) was a wonderful teacher at a school I was doing work in at the time, located in the middle of Chicago's Cabrini Green Housing Project. I wrote this song with 3 voices, each telling a different side of the same story.

Story

* * * * *

Debby Lynn sings the lead in this Taylor's Three version of my song "Fences". I actually wrote the song originally for 3 voices to be performed by another group of three. I used two portable tape recorders, first singing the song into one, then playing it while adding the first harmony using the other tape recorder. I then played that one while adding the third harmony, recording into the first tape recorder. By the time I wrote 3-part songs for Taylor's Three, I had acquired an Emerson dual cassette boom box that allowed me to keep one cassette playing, while recording into the other one. Boom boxes were great.

only one young girl who just happened to be

   G                                           C
leave behind the image of a father, a mother,
          C
and another crazy with a gun, with a gun
        G
and what the crazy person with a gun has done
              D7
you can buy that gun, buy that gun with ease
        G                                Em
and take that gun, take it anywhere you please,
         C
to a movie or a mall or a school
                      G
anywhere at all

 G                                        C
Only one was killed, only one, only one
 G                                          C
only one was killed with a gun, with a gun
            C
not as bad, they say, as it could have been
         G
only one was killed, only one who will not live
      D7
to give what God delivered her to earth
      G                                 Em
to share with those who cared for her and who
         C
she cared for then before the crazy came to call
        C
the crazy person with a gun in the hall
    C                                                                            G
another crazy person with a gun, that’s all, that’s all
    C                                                                            G
another crazy person with a gun, that’s all, that’s all

Have we forgotten what America is all about? How we got to be who we are, is there any doubt How we came here by land and sea and air How we came to America from everywhere Will the real America stand up For something honest and true Will the real America stand up Right now we're counting on you People feel anger and people feel pain People feel joy and love, it's the same No matter what kind of clothing they wear No matter how they say their evening prayer Will the real America.........The soldiers who fight in our wars far from home One and all of them we call our own Whether they pray in a temple, church, or mosque The blood they shed is for all of us Will the real America......... If we want to honor the ones who died When the towers fell, it's time to rise To the occasion and let the whole world see That we honor all people who want to be free Will the real America..........
